as we are today

File_000 (2).jpeg

lines from: Sesshu Foster, Myung Mi Kim, Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Mei-Mei Berssenbrugge

anchovies fried crisp as zen
fried like chorizo

the sun like a cracked egg
cracked in the morning sun?

white yolk peeled out of an eyelid
fog the sun fell through

sometimes cigarette butts floating in a bowl
coffee in a cracked cup

we absorb the aroma like somersaults

I scream too hot too hot
stir the cracked cup

this is how I speak
limited vocabulary while lying down
